Ginsberg believed this brand-new mystic vision could conquer all. Leary a serious scientist and a Harvard professor, was the perfect person for the job. And he was the only one with unlimited access to these magic pills. Going upstairs Ginsberg returned with his address book and announced he would start making phone calls. To the poet Robert Lowell and the writer Muriel Rukeyser. To Kerouac of course and the playwright LeRoi Jones. To genius jazz musicains like Dizzy Gillespie and Thelonious Monk. From this moment on Leary vowed to devote his energies to the " ancient underground society of alchemist, artists, mystics, alienated visionaries, drop outsand the disenchanted young, The Sons Arising.
