From time to time, I have recemmendod Jamis as a possibility for people looking for a good value in a new bike.HOWEVER I wrote Jamis regarding some issues I had with the manner in which one of their [unprofessional] dealers represented the product. I never heard back from Jamis. That has definitely skewed my opinion of Jamis regarding future transactions.Do I think Jamis makes a good product for the money? Overall, probably. I don't think it's a question of the quality of the product, but I do have doubt with the quality of their customer service standards.BUT the salesperson's statement that the bike would last your daughter a lifetime is hogwash. I'm guessing your daughter is still in school?? And this fine salesperson thought he'd close the sale with some cheap line? A complete loss of credibility in my book. No company makes a $300 bike that will last a lifetime. Not even Jamis.Spend your money however it pleases you and your daughter. I would encourage you to at least look at some other products preferably from a different LBS.
